Shot of the M63 Drawbridge from the west side with the clouds picking up some early morning light. This is a very active drawbridge (is that the correct term?) during the summer months with boats coming and going all day long. It can create "serious" traffic jams in downtown Saint Joseph, a city that isn't used to real traffic jams. Fortunately they only open it every half hour on an as needed basis. For just a few sailboats it's pretty fast. If the big rigs are moving through they can take 15..20 minutes to navigate through the narrow river corridor and that can get a bit tedious.

Early morning looking east from Silver Beach. The beach grass they have on the dunes is just very lovely and rich looking when the wind is whipping it around. This is a bit dark in the foreground, but you get the basic idea. Take a look at the large version to get a better feel for this one.

Took an early morning drive a few weeks back down in the rolling wine country. It's a lovely area with lots of variation in the landscape. But pretty tough to shoot in as it's hard to find locations where you can get more of an expansive view of the area. But lots of "micro" opportunities are available. Nice way to spend an early morning either way.

Just a brief departure from the summery shots as we face another school year starting tomorrow. Or as I like to call it: "The official end of Summer". Hope everyone had a nice summer and for those of us in the lands of changing seasons best wishes for a great fall!
