I have a lot to say, but I will be terse. I have been away for awhile, because I was finishing and defending my dissertation. You got it, now you need to (by law) call me Dr. Karr, and if we are close, you can call me Doctor or Dr. Kendra.
On to bigger and better things, vacation with Jim Patterson. This year
we diverged from our Death Valley ritual, and boy were we treated to
some special conditions!
For example, this was a day of special light around Mono Lake. Jim and I had been hiking around Black Point looking for fissures when all the goodness began. We ran down the hill, jumped in the truck to chase beams of glorious light. As we drove toward Tufa land, I noticed beams to the east and south. We decided to chance it and head to Osprey Tufa, instead of the trampled (more later) over populated South Tufa. We ran across the sand to be greeted by beams and rainbows. This is one of many images.
On to South Tufa, we really need to do something. It is ridiculous how many tourist walk on these delicate, old beautiful formations.
Ok gotta jet, airplane is going to take off. More at another time.
