I've heard of theatres turned into parking garages, in fact it may be this one. I've also seen a parking garage that looked a lot like a theatre in Lisbon (or Porto - can't recall). What a shame. It must be quite strange to park your car in such a place, a bit macabre almost.
The RKO Chester Theatre, Bronx is used as car repair place in the former stalls area. The remainder of the auditorium just 'sits there'! It is beautiful in a strange sort of way.
That must be it. " It is the most ironic ruin of Detroit. Nowhere is the automobile more triumphant than here. Yet this site contains a double irony for it here that Henry Ford created his first car in a tiny shop that once stood on this site." on www.detroityes.com/downtown/38michtheat_pan.htm They look alike though.
