Pigeonroof Studios superwash merino - Nightshade

a certain lil skein of yarn is being turned into a beret... I'm gonna keep this one too! :)
Pigeonroof Studios superwash merino - Nightshade by kelp!.
This yarn looks pretty, but it's bad news. I did a horrible job spinning it - I tried to put a ton of twist in the singles so that I'd end up with a smooshy 2-ply, and one of the singles had little coils in it. I figured that they would disappear when the twist was removed in plying, but they did not. I tried to untwist them, but it didn't work, and the yarn is riddled with hard little coils. I'm chalking this one up to A Learning Experience.

Original Fiber. The yarn is about 100g, 180 yards. It's very similar in weight to the green yarn, which would have been perfect as I was planning on using them in a project together

I'd swatch it before you relegate it to the "bad news" pile... you may be surprised.

You know, what the hell do I know about spinning, but did you do the thing where you get it wet and whack it against something? Maybe that would beat it into submission.
