On the right we see a few parts of the old Music Hall Vredenburg.

City hall with the front door open. Normally it's closed. The office door at the back is used most of the time. A citizen passing by.

remake of a 1746 sailing ship. Rebuilding such a ship had two reasons: get people educated for work, and recapture the centuries old technic of building sailing ships and find back the technical knowhow to repair them: to master the centuries old craftsmanship.

The harbour is near the Jaarbeurs and Croeselaan. The Jaarbeurs is an Expo/ fair trade place

Statenjacht ‘de Utrecht’, een levend, varend monument

Statenjacht ‘de Utrecht’ is een nauwkeurige historische reconstructie van een 18e eeuws admiraliteitsjacht, tussen 1997 en 2003 met traditionele methoden gebouwd op basis van originele tekeningen uit 1746. De belangrijkste doelstelling bij de bouw was het bieden van scholing en werkgelegenheid aan jonge mensen met afstand tot de arbeidsmarkt . Tweede doelstelling was een historische: het doen van onderzoek naar scheepsbouwmethoden uit de 17e en 18e eeuw. De beste manier om dat te doen, was door zelf een uniek cultuurhistorisch monument te bouwen: een écht statenjacht.
