All drawings in this gallery are made myself. I draw this on Eddy Merckx and Bernard Hinault as I admire both their road cycling career.

Well it's really an excellent piece -- both in the overall composition and in the little details. You really capture their different riding postures well. I also like the way that you have their faces in shadow so that they're effectively silhouettes.

Thank you very much for your nice comments, anothergreenworld.
I guess you have such knowledge about cycling as you cleverly observed the different positions of the riders.
By the way, Eddy was a comitted and professional rider who was pure strenght and mind determination but it wasn´t as technical as Hinault.
The frenchman was one of the first to get aid of all kind of advisors and specific laboratories in the research of the best position on the bike just to get the most power from the same amount of energy.

You're right about Hinault. Because of his aggressive riding style, Hinault is often remembered as someone who raced with his emotions rather than with his brain, but in fact he was an extremely thoughtful practitioner of the sport. He always used the latest aerodynamic equipment (apart from his penchant for Ray-Ban sunglasses), and indeed I sometimes wonder what he could have accomplished if he had kept racing into the age of tri-bars.

amazing drawing. but i spotted one mistake: not sure if it's the perspective, but i believe you placed the wrong rider in front!

Unbelievably good! When I was a kid I always wanted (but never got) an Edydy Merckx bike

Great drawing! However, I think Eddy was as technical as Bernard. He even was a greater maniac and perfectionist. As you might know, Merckx fell heavily in Blois (France) in 1969. As from that moment, he never again regained his best position on the bike. And he never stopped looking for it - even manipulating his saddle as he was riding!
