Kelley
As you know, using a lot of photoshop (i.e. textures, brushes, etc) to enhance my photos and make them more "designs" has been my thing lately. :)
This is the first image I've placed my name on, as well as my
"Legacy" logo. I've spent a LOT of time creating these
images--with the swirls and brushes, etc.
I have a few more images of Kelley I'll be posting soon. She was a
superb model for me!

This is absolutely stunning Kelly, wow, and Kelley is beautiful too. Love that background u created, that's awesome ... one thing u might wanna fix is the black lettering in the logo (Legacy KDF) ... somewhat hard to read, otherwise it's perfect.

@ Marc I know it's hard to read... that's my struggle at this point. I have tried so many different things and nothing worked. Do you have any suggestions??

Hmmmmmmmm, not sure Kelly ... what if u clear up some of the swirls inside of it and go with a pinkish color for the text ... possibly also change the background color inside the logo frame ... not sure, just ideas. :)

I love this! I'd love to be able to do portrait art like this for the kids. I'm assuming the art was done in lots of layers? Wonderful work!

Yes, quite a few layers :)
I tend to be a bit obsessive when it comes to layers in Photoshop, because I like to see every possibility when it comes to a design, so each brush/idea is on a separate layer. The design on the left consists of about 40 PS brushes (between 20 and 30 layers for those) and like 5 or so for the photo (which I worked on separately then added to this design), canvas, logo, etc...
Perhaps it's a bit much, but I like everything to be separate so when I think I have it finished, I can take away something. It's like accessorizing.... when you think you're ready to leave, take one thing off, be that a necklace, bracelet, etc....
when i think the photo/design is ready, I'll take off one or two layers so it doesn't look overdone.
Especially after staring at an image for 10-20 hours, it's hard to discern what is "overdone". :)
