Crazy Elk

Mom & I went for a drive near Mt Rainier, and on the way back this Elk was standing in the middle of the road. As we approached him, rather than going OFF the road he ran down it for about a mile.... then dangerous hilarity ensued.

While we were following it, you can probably hear "camera snaps" going on every once in a while - which would be my Mom taking pics with her cell phone.

In the really long version of this video, I was saying "I sure hope he doesn't turn around" and my Mom replies "Nah... and if he does, just honk"

So the long middle part of the video is about 1.5 miles of driving behind the Elk cackling like crazy women.

When the Elk stops and turns around]
I am going "OOoooo OOoooo"
And my Mom does that blood curdling "Waaa-oooahh" scream at the end.
And yes... that colorful bit of "Oooo f*cking sh*t" is from me. Having an Elk stop and face you down sorta annoyed with you can provoke some rather colorful language ;)

Right as the video cuts off my Mom is saying "I didn't getta..."
She was saying that she didn't get a picture when he was nose to my driver's window.
I wasn't about to let her go back and get one LOL

What was funnier is as soon as I honked the car horn it really freaked out the Elk and he bolted to the left, which was a rock cliff that went straight up.
So now picture this huge ass Elk standing on his hind legs, belly up against the cliff hopping up and down on his hind legs trying to climb the side of the cliff.

No Elk was hurt in the making of this video. Scared maybe... but I think that was a mutually shared emotion between all 3 of us at the time ;)
