Oh, they don't even hurt. They actually feel good. No lie. It's the itching that gets to you more than anything. And a good moisturizer knocks that out.

phobia, n. an anxiety disorder characterized by extreme and irrational fear of simple things or social situations. (emphasis added)
You see, it's not that needles hurt. Far from it. Needles creep me the f*** out. Not just your typical "I don't like needles" (which I know in your profession you've seen a lot of). When I got my wiz teef yanked, for example, I was given two injections of lidocaine. Restraining my hand from punching and my body from taking off was one of the hardest things I've ever done in my life. Then, I had a gran mal seizure right there in front of my wife (in the room with me). I was that stressed about it.
I can't see injections on television. I can't watch my wife get poked. In fact, I can't even stand it when my wife strokes my injection sites (like the back of the hand or in my elbow). My palms are sweating and I'm getting fidgety writing this right now.
Blood? Cuts? Lacerations? Abrasions? Pain? Suffering? No problem. Back when I was in braces, they had to cut the roof of my mouth open to attach a bracket to an un-descended adult tooth. I let them apply topical lidocaine but I had them do the procedure without an injection. Yes, it burned (for a bit, until the site went numb on its own) but it was better than getting poked.
So when I say I'm the worst trypanophobe evAr, you can take it as read that tattoos are completely, totally and permanently out of the question.

I might go for that. I'm not really the body mod type tho.
