Rue de la Turbie, Monaco

Taken as I was aimlessly ambling through the streets of Monaco. Loved the pastel shades of the buildings!

"The purpose of our lives is to be happy." ~ Dalai Lama

"The purpose of our lives is to be happy." ~ Dalai Lama

And would give me more happiness than sitting in the famed and most photographed bay of Monte Carlo in Monaco. Reminds me of the line from a winter wear jingle called "Monte Carlo" which says "you can never forget an experience in Monte Carlo"

"India is a geographical term. It is no more a united nation than the Equator." ~Winston Churchill

"India is a geographical term. It is no more a united nation than the Equator." ~Winston Churchill

And inspite of these words from a person no less than Winston Churchill, India as a country is celebrating her 63rd anniversary of becoming a republic. Thriving in her diversity and evolving into a force to be reckoned with.

This photo was taken during Naval exercises of the Indian Seaboard

"Bhogi Mantalu" - (translates to Bhogi fire)
Bhogi which is a Hindu Festival, celebrated on 14th Jan this year, is the first day of Pongal - the harvest festival and is celebrated in honor of Lord Indra, "the God of Clouds and Rains". Lord Indra is worshiped for the abundance of harvest, thereby bringing plenty and prosperity to the land.

This picture was taken at the fire we had lit up at 5:00 AM in the wintery cold to celebrate the festival!
