the algorithm makes NO sense. i've had 16 photos in and out of explore, but not by any means my most interesting. and really, i'm sick of seeing cute babies on the front page. they're cute and small and perfect, we get it. they're not very interesting after awhile though. how many friggin' bare butt babies with angel wings can a girl take?!?! *and i say this lovingly as a children's/baby portrait photographer. :)*

A-MEN!!!! I had posted a decent sized rant about Explore on my profile for a while but then decided to just take it down. It wasn't worth the paragraphs! The gist of it was that the idea of Flickr overall is to SHARE your great photography with others! And Explore specifically counts the number of groups you post to AGAINST you. I can't think of a better way to share photos than to post them to groups where like minded folks are likely to see them!!! Besides, it's the comments and the Testimonials that really mean a lot to people. Explore is a little side kick to this site and all. It is what it is. I went about 3 months w/o a single photo making Explore and I posted what a lot of folks generally have thought was my best stuff during that time. Go figure! You're right though. There are some things in Explore that are neither creative, interesting, or of high quality. Like in college football, I'd be more fine with human voting than the BCS computer system! LOL

Actually, what would make my day more than having 100 pics in Explore would be to have some of my images show up in the "Camera Finder" section! That would wow me.

Great! I completely understand. I was so frustrated for awhile that I went downtown to the stock exchange and took a photo of the ticker as the word "Yahoo" (which owns Flickr) passed by with a big downward arrow beside it. I didn't want to piss anyone upstairs off, though, so I took it down. The good thing was, someone who knew how the algorithm works saw it and helped me out! :-)
