sweet cinderella's escape.

this weekend my sweet, sweet cousin got married in austin, tx. when she hired me to be her wedding photographer, i was a bit hesitant. because she had already asked me to be her bridesmaid. now i'm not one to back down from a challenge, so i accepted both positions and hoped for the best. pulling double duty was not the easiest thing i've ever done. mostly because it was *sooooo difficult for me to give up control and trust my 2nd shooter(s) completely during the ceremony.

it was a gorgeous wedding - inspiring, moving and f-u-n. i cried like a lil baby on more than one occasion. (which makes shooting rather tricky)

i love this image for it's little details. if you look closely, you might even see me in the background. a big thank you goes out to my hubby (who saved my a$#!) for being my 2nd shooter. and for taking my orders, uh... i mean - for taking direction so gracefully. =)

melt to stone.

i have a (metaphorical) stack of images waiting, begging for my attention. my little summer travel stint hasn't left much time to work on anything except commissioned work.

i stared at this for hours (which is almost Never a good idea) and i never felt totally satisfied with the way it turned out. i hate when that happens. lots more on the way though considering i get my act together. =)

it's the little things...

yesterday brian and i celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary. i so wish i could've lived our entire wedding day in slow-mo. it all seems like such a blur. a beautiful, blissful blur.

the things that stick out the most in my memory are tiny, sweet little details that spring through the fog of that day. amazing moments like the look on my 85 year old grandpa's face as he sang "yours" at our reception, or the slight tug of brian's hand on while we walked down the beach towards our family and friends.

i love my lil meatball.

after torturing our pups with a 25 hour drive from LA to austin last weekend, we treated them to their first boat ride on lake austin. i think she liked it.

just a silly shot. taken with my lil point and shoot.
