our house hunt has now entered the waiting phase. after making offers on 3 different homes and being outbid 3 times (we offered asking price on the last one and were still outbid!), we are now officially waiting for the perfect fit to magically appear on the market. we have seen (what seems like) hundreds of houses and have spent (what seems like) thousands of hours online continuously searching for a place to call home. homes are on the market for 1 day in a lot of cases. if you can’t get there with your agent, see it and make an offer within 24 hours, you’re shit outta luck. i never, ever expected the market to be so competitive in this “housing slump”. lemme tell you – the recession sure as hell isn’t happening here.

i’d be a bold faced liar if i said i wasn’t frustrated and starting to lose patience at times. still i’m *certain that the right place for us just hasn’t popped up yet. maybe the family living there is packing their boxes right now and moving out tomorrow… maybe they’ll be there another couple months (i am hoping for option #1). the best part about this tedious process is that it’s had us get Really clear on what we are looking for. we have narrowed down our search tremendously when it comes to neighborhood, and opened it up tremendously in terms of the actual home.

so, now we wait… and check realtor.com every 30 minutes.
