Concourse of Despair

The only real indication that this wasn't a completely abandoned concourse
Concourse of Despair by kaszeta.
The merger of TWA and American Airlines was not pleasant for the St Louis airport.

I had several hours to kill waiting for a llight, so I decided to go walking, and discovered that the entire D concourse is empty except for two gates. It really is a ghost concourse, all the shops are gone, most of the restrooms closed, and even the phone removed. Many of the gates no longer have seats, either. I feel sorry for Midwest Connect using Gate D34, since it's a loooong walk from either Terminal. The E concourse (Southwest, mostly) fared a bit better, with only a 3rd of it closed. The C concourse had a lot of closed gates as well.

Apparently, in 2008 they finally shut the majority of the D concourse down so you can no longer walk between C and E concourses.
