Apartment

This is the extension of previous shot.

This is part of the building where I live looking out through my kitchen’s window; the small bush in front is my terrace boundary, behind that is the garden of the building. The “shorter” building on the right is another block next to us. This is a U-shape building; the “east-wing” (the one you see here) has 5 apartments per floor and the “west-wing” (where I live) has one per floor.

The photo was taken in raw and converted into two jpeg with different exposures; one exposed the sky and one exposed the dark area (the bush), and then merged together for “better” exposure. I think I should have spent more time tweaking the dri setting or converted/merged more jpeg.

Btw, the original reflection was upside-down and I rotated the photo 180deg.

Edit:
This shot was taken through a glass top of soy sauce bottle, perhaps you can see a bit better of the setup in previous shot ( www.flickr.com/photos/kartoffel/39035458/ ). The “ball” measured ~2cm cross, which is much bigger than any water droplet :-).

GoSo: That's a rooftop winter garden. He built it after getting permission from all other owners, I think it must be very nice to sit there looking at the old city center; I should visit him one day :-)

This is so clever, and your technical skills are superb! I have yet to try using the RAW setting. It's marvelous what you have achieved. Bravo! By the way, you have a nice view from your kitchen. I don't even have a window in my kitchen :-(

I wonder if the droplet is being made of water or glass?

Sorry that I didn’t make this clear. This is not a water droplet. I did have shots with reflection from water droplet but the droplet is far too small to have the details and too small for me to focus correctly :-); thus the result was not very good, I will upload that photo later.

Very nicely done. I've been wanting to play with RAW images for a while, but first I need a camera that does them!
