HERO ARTS BLOG HOP, Catalog Premier 2010!

HERO ARTS BLOG HOP, Catalog Premier 2010!

GOOD MORNING! Hope you are enjoying the BIG, HERO HOP EVENT today. I know that I'm HONORED to have a part in it. I've been trying out a different collage look with my stamps and supplies these days. I find that I'm having more FUN getting into the creative process with the inks and embellies, so ........WISH I HAD A BLOG of my own, but these are my "humble beginnings" and I must live with them for now. I LOVE the new, "ROW OF HOUSES" image that Hero just designed. There is so much that can be done with this stamp and I'm showing it off in this "collage" style, small square card. With the addition of Tim Holtz distress inks it "livens" it up just a bit more and I LOVE HEARTS.........now it's time to hop on over to Libby's beautiful blog....Libby's blog.
I know that you'll enjoy her CREATIVITY as much as I did when I first saw her work. PLUS, we both love the smell of STAZ ON INK!! I also wanted to mention if you find a link that doesn't work, you can always hop back to Hero Arts Blog for a list of direct links to all the blogs in the hop! THANK YOU AGAIN for dropping by. Below I also had some other works that I created with the SAME image......HAPPY HOPPING. Love, Karen xoxox

I mentioned below how much Donna and Judy had helped me get my photos and text on this Flickr Blog Hop. THANK YOU AGAIN, girls. I couldn't have done it without you!

Hero Arts Blog Hop, 2010 Catalog Premier

Hero Arts Blog Hop, 2010 Catalog Premier

Happy HERO BLOG DAY...........and welcome to my "little space"! Since I don't have a blog, this is where I can showcase my work. I created two cards (upper and lower left), one ATC (upper right) and one MICRO piece (lower right), all using the new HERO STAMP, "Row of Houses" (H5328). Honestly I have fallen in LOVE with this stamp. Currently, I'm really into creating ATC's and this is the PERFECT stamp for my style! I enjoy also using Tim Holtz Distress Inks (have EVERY COLOR) and LOVE to blend them. Just about every piece of my work I will use the "scrap paper" that I've inked on in my design. Thank you for stopping by to take a peek at my "stamping world". As you can see, I come from "humble beginnings", but I'm so THANKFUL for all I've been given, especially that Hero Arts gave me this chance to share my love of stamping. Now it's time to HOP on over to Libby Hickson's BEAUTIFUL BLOG and enjoy a taste of her CREATIVITY, but before you do I want to say that Libby has some GREAT CARDS posted and I only just "met" Libby through this HOP and preparing for it! And Libby, we have something in common!! We both LOVE the SMELL OF STAZ ON INK! How FUN IS THAT?! Libby, "I'm almost wondering if that's "WRONG" that we LOVE that smell"??? Anyway, now hop over to Libby's blog.
Remember, if you find a link that doesn't work, you can always hop back to Hero Arts Blog for a list of direct links to all the blogs in the hop! HAPPY HOPPING and hope you find all the inspiration that keeps your creative juices flowing........Love, Karen xo "HUGE THANK YOU to DONNA MIKASA for getting all of my photos into a mosaic". You did a WONDERFUL job and I appreciate all that you did to help me and also Judy Jung for sending me the directions for linking......I couldn't have done it without you, too. THANK YOU! Love, Karen xoxoxooxxoxoxo

Just a note to say that after the HERO ARTS BLOG HOP, I'll post my cards and ATC's separately, so you can see the details better. Like I said, "HUMBLE BEGINNINGS"........."BIG HEART"!!

Birthday Wishes

Birthday Wishes

For a very special friend's Birthday.......I know that she won't be expecting this card style, as I seem to be such a "simple" stamper. I'm just LOVING those distressing inks and a more COLLAGE LOOK......I had to do EVERYTHING in my power NOT to spray GLIMMER MIST all over this card!! Thanks for peeking. Oh, this is a SMALL card, measuring 3 1/2" x 5".
Love, Karen

Smile! (photo card)

Smile! (photo card)

This is a square card, measuring 5.5 x 5.5 inches. I used cardboard from the bottom of a shopping bag to create the card base. After much DISTRESSING using the Tim Holtz inks, I added all of the die cut circles and also the freehand cut out heart (from cardboard). Used an old dictionary to make the "newsprint" circles.....added machine stitching. That's Molly when she was LITTLE!! What happened to her???? SHE GREW UP TOO FAST!! BOO HOO!!
This is Shari's sketch #1........thank you so much for peeking at my work!!!
Love, Karen

i love you mom

i love you mom

I wanted to try something that was a little "different" style than my "usual"! I like Jacqueline's work, but I KNOW this isn't just like hers......I'm missing the "DREAMY" portion! My tag is TINY!! It's the heart tag, tied to the die cut large scallop heart.....at least I'm trying to step out of my "comfort zone". I must admit that this card was FUN to put together!! Honestly, EVERYONE INSPIRES ME! Thanks for looking.
Love, Karen
