Big fat camera shy rattlesnake

Big fat camera shy rattlesnake by moos.
It was trying to get away from me. The focus isn't great - but if you view large the texture is wild.

Great shot! This one looks significantly different from the Western Diamondbacks we have down here. Almost looks like a type of sidewinder due to the raised eyes.

Oh yes, now I remember why I like Saskatchewan - no rattlesnakes! I gather they maybe are not as dangerous as their reputation makes them seem, from your non-chalant close up photo??

Wonderful essay in textures!
I suppose you were, on balance, glad it was trying to get away from you...

I'm glad that Sugar isn't trying to chase or play with it.

I think I'll stick to viewing regular size, thank you very much! Your animals never get bitten by these guys moos?

Yikes! Moos...a little close for my comfort. I know how they don't like to "run" off but stand their ground. It's really a great shot and the colors and texture are fine but it gives me the willies. Brave brave woman. I found a baby bull snake yesterday and it made me jump. I know that means there's a big one out there somewhere. ew.

I can understand why you say the focus isn't that great. I probably wouldn't linger too much for this shot!

Of course he was trying to get away from you. He's heard of your reputation around rattlers.

I think I have a snake phobia. My palms would've instantly sweated until I dropped the camera and ran as fast as weakened knees would've carried me.
