"Holmes Gave Me A Sketch Of The Events"

"Holmes Gave Me A Sketch Of The Events" by Kaptain Kobold.
This scene from 'The Adventure of Silver Blaze, recreated in Lego. The original illustration was by Sidney Paget.

Someone living who inspires you - Sherlock Holmes - for the February 2006 Monthly Scavenger Hunt.

“Here dwell together still two men of note
Who never lived and so can never die….
Here, though the world explode, these two survive.
And it is always eighteen ninety-five.”

Vincent Starrett (1886-1974)

(The argument for Holmes' continued existence runs thus: Holmes is undoubtedly the world's most famous detective. When a very famous person dies they have an obituary published in The Times. Holmes has not had an obituary published in The Times. Therefore he is not dead.)

It's a good justification, but not mine. I can't remember who came up with it though and it's too buried in my vast collection of Holmes books for me to look it up.

This one is nice though. Old white peices on the top are a tad ugly.

Isn't lego brilliant! I have no idea why the Danes ever thought it'd make a good educational toy... it's just fun
