Katy Manning, 'Girl Illustrated', 1978

    Katy Manning is a British actress best known for her part as the companion Jo Grant in the BBC science fiction television series 'Doctor Who', a role she played from 1971 to 1973.

    In 1978 she caused controversy when she posed naked with an original Dalek prop for the glamour magazine 'Girl Illustrated'. This picture is based on that shot, the original (NSFW) version of which can be seen here.

    The original picture has a darker background, but I couldn't get that to work here. The Dalek is also gold in colour. And Katy Manning's boots are sparkly. In fact there's loads wrong with this :-)

    But I'm quite pleased with the (slightly above minifig scale) Dalek. And the fact that I could be Google's top hit for 'Lego Dalek Porn' :-)

      This is a great re-creation KK, so please don't take offence , but I do prefer some of the qualities that the original captured in this case.

      I don't think I saw that picture at the time. At least one of the dalek's panels below the head grill has gone wonky.

      Brave attempt at a lego dalek on that scale though.

      I'll post some more pictures of the Dalek another day. It's slightly too big to work with minfigs, though; my Katy Manning figure is slightly taller than normal.

      Infinitely less annoying than the real Katy Manning. Never could stand her... and find the pictures of her with her flange out quite boring...

      Anyway, FABULOUS and ingenious solution to dalek building - really like it a lot. Abstract, but at the same time it has everything a real dalek has which allows your brain to fill in the gaps!
