Cameras and smartphones were recording everything. Live streaming feeds of the NYPD were available for all to see.
The Occupy Wall Street demonstration stormed the Brooklyn Bridge. They marched on the Brooklyn bound lane shutting down traffic. The NYPD stopped the march around the middle of the bridge. The NYPD started pushing the crowd back. In response, the crowd sat down. The police provided an exit for those willing to leave. Hundreds stayed and were arrested.
