We all know The Taj Mahal is among seven wonders of the World.
The Taj Mahal is now completely changed. Human activities are the biggest contributor of global warming which has affected our natural resources and environment. Consequently our climate is changing and threatening our natural resources and heritages too. The mirror and shimmering reflection The Taj Mahal in the Yamuna river has been lost decades ago. Due to air pollution Taj Mahal is losing its white glory, the love symbol is turning into unromantic yellow. The rapid rise in global tourism is bringing more and more people to reach any where around the world. No doubt its good for the economic development of any nation but economic development should be sustainable and should not harm our climate.
The UN report on climate change 2009 said among all the natural calamities in 2009, 224 tragedies which is 91.4% of all in 2009, happened due to Global Warming. Due to this 5.5 Crore people effected mostly Asians (2009 drought not included).
Economy Loss:- Cost of all the losses due to these calamities to the entire world is Rs. 720 Billion.
The report also said that year 2009 was the hottest year among last 160 years of weather record. Before that it was 1998. Also Monsoon of 2009 was the weakest after 1972. According to British Weather Department in 2010 world’s temperature will increase and it could be the hottest year in the history. The World’s temperature is increasing at the rate of 0.006 degree Celsius per year. If it continues then life line rivers like Ganges and Brahamaputra will die between 10-20 years as the thickness of Himalayan Glaciers are squeezing form 0.5-2 meter every year. Consequently costal areas of the world will sub-merge in sea and our generations won’t have water to drink or in some zones not even to clean their shits.
Still we have time to save our Planet earth. Keep in mind what ever thing we are using be it a fruit or vegetable, electricity or any electronic items, automobile or cooking gas all contain our natural resources. So to start saving our natural resources make their utility as best as you can. Help in reducing global warming at least if not for others but for yourself.
