Pacific Beach montage

At 50% of full size this panorama, stitched from 47 aerial photographs, is 19,000 pixels wide.

I gathered the source images by walking a quarter mile of the beach taking a plan view photograph every 20 paces with a kite-lofted camera.

	David Mitchell says: Wow! What a wonderful image! I've downloaded the whole thing to take a much closer look. Is that the shadow of your flowform right at the top near the middle? 	KAP Cris says: Hi David Mitchell -- While there are figures along the beginning of the wet sand at the bottom I do not think they are me. I was walking just below that from right to left, always facing left. The shadow in the middle is my kite. In this case the Sutton 30 was a bit underpowered so I have the Carlisle Kiteworks Rokkaku aloft. And to Flickr Dave -- I stitched this with AutoPano Pro which I have been using of late as an alternative to PTGui. The first efforts were poor and I almost gave up. Then I tried using the Smartblend plugin as an alternative for transitions and most of my problems went away. Three cheers for Smartblend. Thanks to all for their comments.
