The wall of the front lobby at the hotel where we had Maggie's birthday had a cool textured panel on it. I tried to take some closeups to do something abstract for the day.

Today was Maggie's birthday party at the Springhill Suites Marriott. For years, we've been renting a hotel room for our birthday parties so we could swim and have a sleepover. It's fun because most of us have winter birthdays and it's not that expensive because it's an off season.

Now that Maggie's celebration is over, Kevin's birthday is up next...this week!

This is a problem I have had all my life.

I love pretty shoes, but I cannot wear pretty shoes. I bought these pretty shoes at Target and have worn them about three times since last Christmas. I cannot bear to wear them since they kill my feet. But today they went so well with my outfit that I just couldn't resist!

Whenever I wear heels, I also get surprised at how much taller I feel compared to other people. I'm guessing that people who always wear heels never notice it...

On the day I thought I was going to end up phoning it in, I actually ended up taking a pretty cool picture.

We went to Whole Foods for lunch today and I picked up a container of Valentine's Day jelly beans. I always like pink and red jelly beans, and the last time we bought jelly beans from Whole Foods, they were really good.

These are strawberry, pomegranate and vanilla, I think...

There is a large markerboard in the middle of our office. Usually it goes untouched, or we write our upcoming workshops on it, but lately we've been using it to work out complicated things like schedules and outlines. As you can see from the little bit here, the markerboard has been fairly busy.

But what cracks me up is this list in the corner that is titled "List." I am not sure what kind of list it is, but it is a list, and I am sure it made sense at the time.

My colleague Lisa said it reminded her of when her kids were little, and she would put index cards on things so kids could learn words: "lamp," "chair," etc. It's as if this was the same thing, with someone labeling the list so we'd know it was a list.

Again, I am sure it all made sense at the time when we wrote it...:)
