The thrill of victory
After getting the Kainantu satellite relay station of the Papua New
Guinea Christian Broadcasting Network up again after an extended down time, I was very thrilled. So were others, including the security guard at the Telikom building where the station equipment is. I gave him a solar-powered fix-tuned radio, and he was very happy. Then, I forded the river and went back to work at the Aiyura Airstrip. I turned on my other radio, and found that the satellite receiver was losing lock and the station was not working properly. The man with the radio in this picture called me and asked about it. I told him it wasn't his radio's problem. I really had no more technical options to try with what I had available. So, I just prayed. That evening, I turned on the radio, and it was working again. It is still working. May the Lord keep it running until we get a replacement receiver. (We need to replace the satellite receiver, anyway, for other reasons.)
