Larkspur had a literal field day on the Carrizo Plain this Spring. Mass displays of blue, lavender and purple contrasted nicely with the brilliant yellow painting the Temblor Range in the distance. Even the Goldfields, although they had already gone to seed, added deep gold and rust tones to enrich the color palette. Just a lovely day, despite the winds that were whipping around quite a bit. Had to wait for the gusts to ease up before I got this shot.
