Multnomah Falls by Kadacat (Marlene)

Multnomah Falls

On our West Coast Vacation, we took the Columbia River Gorge drive - beautiful scenery and waterfalls. It took us 5 hours to go 8.5 miles! And yes, we had a car :-). Many stops and short hikes along the way.

This was the largest falls we saw that day and the most spectacular at a total of 620 feet high - split into two sets of falls.

A beautiful ride by Kadacat (Marlene)

A beautiful ride

Taken along the Oregon Coast - at this particular beach there was horse back riding where you could either rent a horse or bring your own to the stables. If I weren't leery about getting on a horse it would have been a wonderful thing to do!

Bliss by Kadacat (Marlene)

Bliss

I was so excited to see the sea lions on our trip down the Oregon Coast. We stopped in Newport, Oregon looking for the Oregon Coast Aquarium and mistakenly ended up in the historic waterfront area of town. It turned out to be a good mistake - we had lunch overlooking the bay and these beautiful (but noisy) California sea lions basking in the sun on the wharf.

And he too is gone... by Kadacat (Marlene)

And he too is gone...

We said goodbye to our Scratchie Boy on Wednesday this week :-(. He was such a good pet and we will miss him so much.

Scratch was 13 years old and was diagnosed with diabetes just last week. We were just starting with his insulin treatments when he developed a complication as a result of the diabetes. He had a severe case of ketoacidosis - a condition that happens with some cats (and people) where the body will rob the muscles and organs of nutrients that it isn't getting from food. Scratch was very sick in the end.

Our house is empty without any fur babies after having lost Tess in January and now Scratch.

Goodbye sweet boy.
