19990730 BikeSummer Bike Lane Installed

Earlier guerilla bike lane activity, BikeSummer 1999.

This lane was installed in the middle of the night on Fell Street, extending from Scott to Baker, thereby connecting the Wiggle to the Golden Gate Park Panhandle. It immediately attracted bicyclists -- I counted 100 the next day -- but the city removed the lines within a week.

This is now an official city bike lane (though the official city bike map shows it on the wrong side of Fell).
