Twin Cascade #4

Twin Cascade #4

Here's the last of my shots from the Twin Cascade area in western MA, shot way back in October. This is a view of the narrow flume below where the two waterfalls join together. The water was freezing to stand in. This is the last shot I have to upload for the foreseeable future. I have more from this day as well as some very different shots from Marblehead in November, but they are on my desktop computer which is still down.

Twin Cascade #3

Twin Cascade #3

Happy New Year, everyone. Here’s yet another shot from Twin Cascade back in October. This is the more photogenic half of the waterfall. To the left of this shot is the taller cascade featured in the two previous shots.

I’m not sure how much I’ll be able to get out any time soon for new work, so I’m stretching out the time between what I have left already done. I have a bunch more from western MA, and then three from Marblehead. Unfortunately, most of these shots are on my desktop computer which is not working at the moment. I’ve narrowed the problem down to one of three things… sure hope it’s not the motherboard. All of my unposted shots should still be preserved on the hard drive which I believe is undamaged.

Twin Cascade Left Side #2

Twin Cascade Left Side #2

I'm slow to upload right now because of computer problems. Here's another shot of Twin Cascade in western MA. This one is from further back, and my favorite shot of that day.

Twin Cascade 1

Twin Cascade 1

Twin Cascade. This is the left side of the "twin". I ended up being here at just the right time to catch a balance between leaves on the ground and leaves on the trees.

Something strange happened with this photo the first day it went up on Flickr. Normally I get the bulk of my image views as being directly through Flickr. I pick up about 2 or 3 per day on Google image search. For some reason, this one picked up over 200 views, more than 2/3 of the first day's views, from "unknown source." If anyone knows how to figure out where they came from, let me know.

Mill Brook Falls

Mill Brook Falls

Going back to October for a little while. I spent a day of foliage & waterfall shooting in western MA. I had considerable better luck than I did the week before that in the White Mountains (when most of the foliage was done and the water was too violent). Also, I've found that the waterfalls in western MA are, so far, more interesting than the ones I've done in New Hampshire.

This is actually not really a waterfall as it goes over a man-made dam. But, it's a nice old dam, and it's paired with one of those classic New England covered bridges. This is Mill Brook Falls in Charlemont.
