I have a dream...☮

I have a dream...☮

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.
Martin Luther King Jr., I Have a Dream, 1963.

It's a day to remember MLK...

This was taken at the wonderful Morton Arboretum near Chicago. It's becoming one of my favorite places to be.

Hello... Norma Jean...

Hello... Norma Jean...

This is the Forever Marilyn sculpture in downtown Chicago... It's pretty neat in person.

It is 26 feet tall, 34,000lbs, and has a blond head of hair that you would recognize a mile away, it’s Marilyn Monroe. She is posing in her iconic stance from the 1955 film “The Seven Year Itch”, perched over a grate with a gust of air blowing her skirt up.

The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated.

We went to the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. Every year they do "Zoo Lights". It was great weather and a fun time. Gorgeous lights! I love the gorillas and monkeys... but can't help but feel sad to see such beautiful creatures in captivity.

Inside the Willis building. Chicago was really crowded when we went downtown. We waited 2 hours to get to the 103rd floor.

Nevvvver again. :)

"Don't say you don't have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein."

This is my daughter Alex. She was accepted to ISU, Illinois State University, and we're very proud of her. I wish I had all those parting bits of wisdom I could imprint on her brain... to guide and help her through life. I know she will be great whatever she chooses to be and do.

The light pouring through the Chicago Cultural Center was just exquisite. I can't wait to go back there. I really loved that place.
