Our Base

My stubby Thug.... which I launched on an Aerotech H128W-10 motor, and got to 505 ft./sec max velocity
Uncle Vic is holding the Tent... he is not a detail. If you put him away the whole tent´d collapse to one side.

I am a very observative alien 0-)
Our Base by jurvetson.
We camped with Toma, our host for the weekend, and member of the 100K ft. team. Here is where we assembled motors for our high-power rocketry certification flights, and found shelter from the microbursts of wind and the nighttime cold.

Victor is touching my L1 Certification bird, a Binder Design Thug.

Visitors from a number of international universities were present for the ARLISS satellite launches (green rocket segments on right). I met a nice guy from Taiwan who explained that they just don’t get the chance to launch this kind of stuff at home…. =)
