Rocket Video Cam

wireless video camera pointing down. Battery is inside rocket. Antenna runs along the tube.

My Aerotech Mirage had two flawless launches with the onboard wireless video cam giving a live feed, which I recorded on a portable MPEG encoder (sample frame below). This 7’ design comes down on two parachutes.

Do you have to account for the air friction caused by the camera outside the body, or does it have no effect on the aerodynamics?

at subsonic speeds, the irregularity does not make a big difference. The camera is held on with Scotch Tape!

From other photos, I have seen very ungainly shapes launched... Including a Porta-Potty (portable outdoor single toilet "building")

It took two M1419 engines.... 200 lbs at liftoff !

With a big enough motor and some fins, anything can fly... a little bit...

I see it all clearly in my head...

Out of actual rockets, Encyclopedia Brown and his buddies make the most of the remains of the campsite. Unfettered by the knowledge that they were on the way home, the rocketeers began launching coolers, lawn chairs, Albert’s thermos, and finally the piece de resistance - an unsuspecting porta-potty.
