The one-eye Olympus Goddess
She knows what´s good
you can leave your hat on...

I like this orange... thing.
Purple wire
Blue wire
Red wire
Orange wire
Green wire
Yellow wire
Anything "XL" that recharges you must be good... :) And there is another thing about the name "duracell" translated but I´d better not mention it. Post-its are for Technical details they said. 0-)
Tech det.: Carpet
Brown ribbony-wire sort of thing
A "screw" (ahem!)
Neon bulb.
Yellow wire. Cut this one, and we're all dead.
winged thesis
lights when soul-hungry
Souls go through here, but it's an ultrasonic rangefinder too.
highly-evolved film
UN216 Silicon PNP epitaxial planer transistor - it is essentially a low-voltage transistor array drive for small motors, probably in this case the zoom and/or focus.
conected to the carpet? :)
I'd love to see how they do all these little solder points.
how to set a precedent...tripod bush
lolol@A
photo sensor?
The lesser known "Brown" wire -- nobody wants you to know about this one. It leads to a hatch, and the other side of the island....

Oh no! I can see his wires! That's obscene!

Just kidding. Great picture, the orange things (circuits?) are nice. It's funny, some designers strive to achieve that look, and others hide it behind layers of black plastic.

This is very revealing - an intriguing and beautiful nude. Judging by the fiber in the background, though, this nude model is very tiny!

Damn, Nell M beat me to the punch. The moment I saw the thumb I thought "got to call this obscene".

Interesting shot, are you as good at putting together as you are at pulling apart? I never was.

From Boing Boing:

"Already, Flickr users have begun to use the photo-annotation tool to mark up the pic with technical details on the exposed components."

OK, so that's "technical details" like, "I like this orange... thing", right?

Thanks y'all. I have a hard time predicting which photos will be popular.... Glad to see there are a lot of closet geeks out there. =)

So much of our world is driven by technology and it is becoming a black box. There is much inner beauty.

When I take apart a 20 year old TV, it is so much more interesting than a modern LCD TV. Pre-"integrated circuit era" electronics can be gorgeous. I have pulled the cover off of a lot of electronics this year, and cameras are some of the most interesting.

Andyi: Right you are. Here's another example.

PS you might like to look at my treatment of a videocamera to produce a similar set of pictures to this one.

The brownish-orange plastic circuit film in this is better known as "polyimide" or "Kapton" and is used in quite a few things, especially if they need to pack a lot of stuff in a small space (like this camera). You can even get Kapton tape for taping down wires and such.

Also, the chip in the upper right corner is some sort of custom chip. I'm guessing it contains the auto-exposure or auto-focus guts. The big "M" is short for Matsushita (better known as Panasonic).
