      The skin buzz. The chill. Like goose bumps, but deeper...

      I just finished Steven Johnson's Mind Wide Open, which explains:

      "the shiver of pleasure we experience while listening to our favorite music is the release of endogenous opioids... Animals appear to have a chill response to music as well. In one widely cited study, he played dozens of records to chickens attached to equipment designed to record their shivers of pleasure. The chickens turned out to have the strongest postitive response to the late era Pink Floyd record The Final Cut."

      I´ve heard about plants growing inclinated to speakers playing classical music, but never about chickens with chicken skin by pinkfloydesque rhythms...
