Fortunately, this was under a log some distance from the house. This type of termite is small - perhaps half a centimeter.

I'm going to nominate this photo as "most unexpectedly popular". It's the 10th most-view photo in my stream. That's pretty amazing for a clear but unexciting photo of a bug!

I wonder what that says about the dozens of photos which represent my best artistic efforts...
