To Bath with Mud

Here
And here?
To Bath with Mud by Velo Steve.
That is, this is the door to the bath area, and the walls have "mud" (drywall compound) on the joints. A day or two to dry, and then another layer.

I'm wondering what's with the holes about mid-way up the walls, higher than where a light switch would go? Some kind of light fixture?

Thermostat on the left, and a wall-mounted light on the right. There will be a pair of lights in that niche.

Speaking of themostats, did you find a way to connect your thermostat to your computer? Can you do that?

No solution yet. It's pretty annoying. There are systems which will radio your temperatures and other stats time to a satellite, and accept control information over the web. But let you touch the data on your own computer? Just connect it with a network or USB cable? Oh no.

I'm sure there's a way, but it would probably involve cobbling together the whole system from scratch or reverse engineering one of the high-end thermostats.
