Files
Remodeling, even with an architect and contractor, is a more hands-on job than we imagined. These files are the tip of the iceberg, which includes books, computer files, magazine clippings, the house "blueprints", and things we have learned in various showrooms.
There's even a little physical work, as we have been moving some of the remaining items out of the house. Even the rooms we thought would be safe storage areas are involved in one way or another.

I'd be happy to have you use this image. If it is seen by others there should be credit - either my name or a link to my Flickr page. If it's just for your own use, don't worry about that.

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I used this image in a recent blog post on digital preservation (with credit to you and a link, of course). I hope that's alright! The post is at dartmouthpreservation.blogspot.com/2011/04/di gital-preser....

Thanks for letting me know. I'm always happy to see my images used in a good way.
I may follow your articles - I just had a case of "bit rot" when a RAID 5 storage system changed maybe 1 bit per 50 MB with no error message or other failure. It's potentially worse than a complete failure, because you don't know which backups to trust if you don't know when it happened.

Thankyou for sharing this photo -= I'll be using it this week to illustrate a post about storing new words in a child's vocabulary system - come by and check it out! I will of course link back here so everyone knows that it's your photo.
Cheers
Emily
