Dominating view
Usually unwanted guests to the castle were sent a message from afar.
If they just wouldn't get it - well there was still the shower...
---
Over the heather the wet wind blows
Lice in my tunic, and a cold in my nose
The rain comes falling out of the sky
I'm a soldier on the wall and I don't know why
When I'm old, and I only got one eye
There'll be no more soldiering, just lookin' at the sky
I'm a soldier on the wall, I'm a soldier on the wall,
A soldier on the wall, and I don't know why!

How much does it cost to shell the neighboring houses? I hope they don't charge extra for that.

Candy cane canons aren't effective but they are pretty.

Alan: Not only they charge extra, shelling the houses is included only in the World Domination pack - and that one is reserved for VIP guests (head of states and such).
But for small additional charge you can participate in Get That Terrorist hunt (formerly called Stifle Peasant Mutiny, renamed few years ago to better fit the global trends). With that you get a bow and arrows plus limited time to shoot some pesky peasants.
(Speaking of which - I've altered the picture a wee little bit. Check if out if you can spot the difference. )
KWN: Not just pretty - tasty too! :-)
Anyway, I think cannon was added just for tourists. Three or four archers, shooting downwards would be way more effective than any cannon that existed in those times.

No wonder why those noblemen felt so, um, elevated above the commoners, huh? :-)
