Old times

Old times

This drawing is so far the most interesting I have done. The photo reference was a simple one, with this young couple sitting on a table and having fun. I changed their clothes and gave them a victorian look. So all the environment has changed, and they travelled through time some ages ago receiving a new style. For sure that from now on I’ll make more portraits like this.

I made this little drawing for the contest we had on Pencil Portraits. I have to admit that I chose the photo reference, but while drawing it I realised that it wasn’t so easy to do. You can go on the contest page and see the other portraits made after this photo by the members. I didn’t participated, but just tried to give some advices. It wasn’t quite a contest, in the real meaning, because the goal was to achieve more knowledge about how to make a portrait, rather than compete.

A new commission done. This time I used some carbon pencils for the glasses. The effect turned out really nice. The carbon is not shining like the graphite, and so it gives a pop-up effect. Here is a photo, so you can understand what I mean.
