gadgets

I am a sucker for gadgets, especially kitchen gadgets, especially when they cost pennies on ebay. The Tawa pan should assist my flat/pitta/chapati/naan bread making. The gyoza moulds sound more complicated than I thought :)

The seasideification of the bathroom continues. Hannah bought the crab for me after I spotted it in a shop in Aberdyfi a couple of years ago.

The white on the beetroot at the top is ice. I had to chisel it out of the ground. This was a take on a meal I saw here on flickr. Potatoes, beetroot, kale, onion, garlic, cooking chorizo, white wine vinegar and sage. I may have over exposed the poached egg but I did not over cook it. Yum.

According to NHS advice, we should be concered that Madeleine's leg spin technique isn't great. Do you think they mean throw a ball underarm?

moon

moon

After commenting on Mum's moon photo, I have been reading more about how the moon appears to change during a month and during a year. The sun follows a path called the ecliptic. The ecliptic changes through the year due to our axial tilt of 23 ish degrees to the orbital plane. As both the ecliptic and the moon's path relative to it (5 ish degrees) change during the year, it sometimes appears to be much higher in the night sky. The moon is currently above the ecliptic. As we rotate, the angle of the shadow changes, because we are standing on a ball. But basically the angle of the shadow is caused by the position of the moon relative to the ecliptic. Clear as mud?
