Firearms officers from the British Transport Police patrol Waterloo Station. The BTP have said teams of officers will be 'routinely armed' in major stations as part of anti-terror measures. The scheme has been in place since February this year, with deployed numbers increasing as new armed officers are introduced as they train.
One officer pictured (Left) was previously a member of the Metropolitan Police's CO19 armed response unit, and the other (Right) a newly firearms trained BTP officer, both of whom patrol multiple transport hubs around London, particularly in the run up to major events.

Not armed in my day.
Surprised really to think that that weren't and in truth have taken rather along time to set a unit like this up.
I think it displays the level of credibility now shown to this Force, who's future was very much in doubt when the railways were privatised.
