Der Erholungspark Marzahn liegt im Berliner Bezirk Marzahn-Hellersdorf am nördlichen Fuß des Kienbergs und wurde am 9. Mai 1987 anlässlich der 750-Jahr-Feier von Berlin als Berliner Gartenschau und Geschenk der Gärtner an die Hauptstadt der DDR (Ost-Berlin) eröffnet und sollte somit ein Gegenstück zum Britzer Garten im damaligen West-Berlin darstellen.
1991 wurde die Berliner Gartenschau nicht nur in Erholungspark Marzahn umbenannt, sondern auch umgebaut: Große Spiel- und Liegewiesen sowie neue Spielplätze entstanden, Bäume wurden gepflanzt und Sondergärten überarbeitet und erweitert. Der neu gestaltete Park sollte den 300.000 Bewohnern der umliegenden Großsiedlungen als vielfältig nutzbare Erholungslandschaft dienen. Seit Oktober 2000 ist diese durch ihre Gärten der Welt auch weit über die Stadtgrenzen hinaus bekannt. 2005 wurde der Chinesische Garten im Erholungspark Marzahn als drittschönste Parkanlage Deutschlands ausgezeichnet. Außerdem gehört der Erholungspark zu den 365 Orten im Land der Ideen.

Awesome fireworks capture! I like the
