Carl Stands at the Top of the Mountain

We drove from Las Vegas to the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area (commonly known as Mount Charleston). At the top is Mount Charleston Lodge where we ate lunch sitting in the sun. Our skin reacted to the longer exposure of sun since we had no umbrella over our table; it'd been caught up in a gust of wind on the previous day and landed in the old town below.
