Cool close up, shows how interesting bugs can be if people just take the time to stop and look closely.

Well, I spent 1 month of my summer off from teaching 3rd grade to learn to take these close-ups. I worked with several entomologists. I learned a lot. Check out my album: www.flickr.com/photos/judybaxter/sets/30771/

Thanks. I probably took about 20 photos of this same plant and bug and got about 2 good shots. I found that I preferred the auto focus, but it didn't always focus on the object that I chose in my mind. Wind blowing the leaf and the bug crawling also caused difficulties. (That's not including the fact that I'm old, fat, and out of shape.LOL)
BTW: It is HOT, HOT, HOT in Georgia fields in the summertime.

Actually, I need to work on my SETS on flickr.
I have a lot of insect photos in my "Arthorpod Images" set. It's a PowerPoint slide show that I created summer of 2004 while working with some entomologists at UGA Tifton Campus Experiment Station as part of teacher in-service training.
