Perhaps if Google was dragged into court and convicted as many times as Microsoft has, I'd feel the same way you do. But, I don't.

Seriously? Based on a proposal...? Even though Flickr is the leader in this space... what a sad way to live your life!

Let's just say, if Microsoft purchases Yahoo!, I will not be using these services any longer. Trusting Micosoft with your data is not a smart thing to do. And THAT's no way to live your life.

I agree, and thanks for the ipernity link. I too will move if M$ buys Yahoo. only IF, just because M$ wants yahoo is no reason to leave Yahoo.

I don't know - what if it were Google buying Yahoo? And what about a few years back when Yahoo bought Flickr? If Microsoft maintains CC-licenses, I don't worry too much about it.

Well that's BAD news :( I don't want Microsoft to have a control over web services, they don't seem to handle them well. Look at MSN search and compare it to Google. The answer is so damn obvious.

Oh and anyway I would definitely not want Microsoft to implement to VALIDATE YOUR WINDOWS TO LOG IN TO FLICKR that kind of idiotic move, like what they've done to computers >< bad bad bad.

And boy, would I ever feel stupid now if I were! ;-)

Maybe if Yahoo! somehow avoids/rejects this hostile takeover offer of Microshaft's, it will inspire me to give Yahoo! some finanical support, as well as my searching, e-mailing, IM, and photo-sharing support.

Just finished setting up an account at IPERNITY ( www.ipernity.com ) and have to admit, I'm quite impressed so far.

There's quite a bit more you can do there than you can do here.

Thanks for the suggestion, Don!

Yeah, I wasn't too excited when I heard about MS's interest in Yahoo!
I will stick with Flickr though, as I get free Pro service with my ISP provider, and I have business ties with Yahoo! services.

JeffJohn; I don't think it's a sad way to life your life. Not many people take that much account for their principles. For example, I'm sure there's many people out there that think child sweat-shop jobs are wrong, yet will shop at a dollar store or an "economically sound" department store.

der3lict; Sorry for the delay on responding, my point was that he is quitting on a proposal. The notion of not buying due to principles is sound. I was questioning the fact it is merely a proposal. If the merger had taken place I would understand the notion.
If I tell you that the dollar store was proposing to no longer purchase from sweat-shops, would you start shopping there again?
That's my point. Flickr is great why abandon it on a proposal?
