Joiner Joins Millsaps Softball Squad
After helping lead East Central Community College’s softball team to its first state title and a top five finish in the 2011 NJCAA Division II Softball National Championship, Abbie Joiner (seated center) of Philadelphia is taking her talents to Millsaps College in Jackson. Joiner, a catcher/outfielder, batted .364 with 21 RBIs for the Lady Diamond Warriors who completed the championship season with a 37-15 record. EC qualified for its second-straight appearance in the NJCAA tourney by capturing runner-up honors in the Region 23 Tournament. Joiner, a product of Neshoba Central High School, is pictured with her parents, Cheryl and Richard Joiner, and her nephew, Wyatt Joiner.
