There is light inside the shadows

There is light inside the shadows by J. Star.
Inside the Athenaeum of Ohio. The place is just beautiful.

Better bigger

9/26/06--Front page of Explore, yee haw! Thanks everyone!

Shot with a Sigma 10-20 at 10mm and built from three blended exposures; further tweaked by layering in PSE to bring out the windows and the pink wall behind the crucifix.

Holy shot, no literally. As mentioned previously, you've used hdr exactly how (I think) it should be used in order to emphasize color and depth in a restrained manner. It echoes of warmth, vibrancy & life. Very nice J.

Thanks for leaving me a comment on the image of Saint Pierre - looks like what you have here is actually the golden standard by which all others should be judged, you clearly have a good eye. The perspective and colour in the windows are fantastic - you also enjoy the same subtle use of HDR as I do - I see so much HDR out there that's just so un-natural. Defn a big fave of mine.

An increadible HDR, and I am so proud that you kept 'reality' in check. Too many times people get out of control with HDR and produce these really unrealistic, garish looking photos which imo don't compliment the scene. This on the otherhand probably looks better in the photo than it did in real life. GREAT JOB!!

Wondering if you used PS or Photomatix
