Question: Can kids manipulate - move around each icon? Or it's quite 'set' - one stiff graphics? Or most used ones line up - clock-wise and least used ones go down...etc?

Yes there is an option for the icons to be placed in a free form fashion. There are some basic shapes that can be used (square, triangle), but with a few script edits, you can make any shape you want.
