There are a lot of things that get past the DMV censors, this would be some of them. I have seen vanity plates from other states (which shall remain nameless) that have things that shouldn't be on them, like religious messages (often involving God or Jesus), sexual innuendo, and sometimes the odd combo of both.
Now last time I checked, DIE-666 is up for grabs in New York along with things like U MORON and ARSEHOL.
