At present, this is what much of Victoria looks like.

Fire in Upper Ferntree Gully last Saturday. Just a couple of kilometres from home. Just a small one though and quickly contained.
Imagine 3000 square kilometres of this - that's Victoria at present.

you know, there is a joke about the seasons in this country, since most of the country has 4 seasons, but they vary be area.... south-eastern USA has sun, fun, tourist & hurricane seasons...that Arizona has hot, hotter, holy $hit, and are you KIDDING me? They say California has drought flood mud and fire. And while they are pretty realistic, there really isn't anything funny about those last 4 to me...i don't know how you do it. This is another reason for me to appreciate our 4 regular seasons. Hope all is well for Victoria soon....
