Angel Island Fire

Angel Island Fire by sharp.focus.
Taken at 10:03 pm. After the fire spread from the eastern side of the island, giant flames rose up after vegetation went ablaze. Burts of flame like sunspots would erupt every few minutes during the peak of the fire around 10:15 pm.

Scary sight. Updates about the fire found at this site: www.wildlandfire.com/hotlist/showthread.php?s=bbe65ae2e24...

ohmygosh. I can't believe Angel Island is burning. I have so many fond memories...my three children have spent so many carefree summer days there. I hope the fire crews can save the historical buildings.

Hopefully the animals can escape to an area where the smoke is not an issue. They have good instincts!
