Last Quarter panorama
Another attempt at a daytime moon panorama. 10 frames stitched with Autostitch. Comparing to yesterday's single frame, you can see I can get a lot more detail this way (especially near the edges).
Sky blended in The GIMP--so it's not quite so blotchy as last time I did this. Even so, I should have locked my camera's exposure before taking shots with varying amount of moon in them... the left half of the picture is obviously exposed differently from the right. Next time...

amazing and great work!! By the way, which lense are you using for the single frame?

brilliant - amazing amount of detail. do you use an adaptor with the telescope as I had an awful time trying to take pictures down one freestyle?
jpstanley (84 months ago | reply)
@jaime - I'm using a Canon Powershot A95 pointed through a 4.5" reflecting telescope with a 15mm eyepiece and 2x Barlow lens.
@james - Yes, I use an Orion Steadypix adapter to hold the camera to the eyepiece. Pictures here.

Wow!

@fox - I don't think even Hubble can resolve that much detail on the Moon. The Clementine lunar orbiter photographed the Apollo 15 landing site a few years ago, though--see here.
